Great Sunday AFternon Film: A Place in the Sun

An American Tragedy (1931)

A Place in the Sun (1951)

Both films are based on the Theodore Dreiser Novel "An American Tragedy,"

The 1951 Film was directed by George Stevens from a screenplay by Harry Brown and Michael Wilson, and stars Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, and Shelley Winters; its supporting actors included Anne Revere, and Raymond Burr.

I have seen the 1951 version several times and it never gets stale.  I look forward to seeing the earlier version, which Dreiser didn't like at all.

Neal and I getting ready for the movie.  Happy sunday.
