Brooks is recovering nicely from surgery to have his left back leg removed. He was up and cruising around the petting room yesterday when I was there. He has a foster mom, Chelsea Patton, one of the employees at the Humane Society. Right now, his main task is to learn to negotiate the world with three legs. His right hind leg is still not strong, but he's working on that.
Animals with the spirits of champions like Brooks get a second chance because of organizations like the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia.
When he's rehabilitated, he'll need a permanent home and I'm sure there'll be a competition to get this brave little boy. If you're interested in contributing to the fund that provided Brooks' care and gave him another chance at life, contact the Humane Society. You can contribute in the name of an animal or a person.
Hold Brooks in your hearts while he's fighting to recover.
